Hearts are Racing!

Protect your Companion from Heartworm Disease

Heartworm Disease is a serious hazard transmitted to your pet by mosquitoes. It can be fatal if left undetected, which is why annual testing is so important!

  • In Ontario, we are seeing an increase in the number of heartworm positive cases. There was a 700% increase in the number of heartworm positive tests from 2007 to 2008 in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge-Guelph area.
  • Southern Ontario is Canada's heartworm hotspot!
  • Heartworm disease can be easily prevented - dogs need to be tested each year, and all dogs, cats, and ferrets should be on a preventive medication program

Call us today at 519-746-7557 to schedule your dog's heartworm test - you can save up to 30% when heartworm testing is combined with an annual wellness screen!

 Special Dates to Remember:

  • April 1st - Start your dog's tick prevention program
  • After April 15th - Your dog can be tested for heartworm. Cats do not need to be tested.
  • May 1st - Start your dog or cat's flea prevention program
  • May 1st - Start your dog, cat, or ferret's heartworm prevention program

Check out our Heartworm Central page for more information on heartworm, as well as fleas, ticks, and intestinal parasites.
